Reditr - Best Reddit Client App Reviews
Overall, this is a very good client for reading and posting to reddit. Nice interface and the multi column layout is good for hardcore users. Youtube and soundcloud are displayed inline for previewing as well. The only major missing feature is that it doesn’t create another desktop when going fullscreen like most other apps I use. If not for that, 4 stars out of 5 wuld have been a 5. Edit: after another couple of minutes I found out you can fullscreen with View -> Fullscreen, so I’m upping the rating to 5. Normally fullscreen is enacted using the Green maximize button, so I just missed it.
This app has a TON of features and lots of customizability, but it’s UI is a little messy and overly complex. The design seems a little thrown together and incoherent. in desperate need fo streamlining and organization.
Great, but needs a lot of work.
Great app with amazing features, but absurdly slow and irresponsive.
only point I would like is customizable theming - the dark theme is a bit too dark for me during the day, an alternative light theme would be great. Other than that it is far more capable than the alternatives and I like to be able to see multiple subreddits at a glance. Especially when combined with the "new items" stream of all subscribed reddits. Ordering subreddit columns on pages is a bit fiddly, too, could be made a bit easier by introducing some drag and drop features (dragging a column from one of the last pages to one of the pages in the front for example). But still, this is a very nice tool.
Doesn’t work under El Capitan
This app doesn’t work at all under El Capitan. I tries to keep loading content but without any success...
Thanks to developers to design THAT! It’s not buggy on 10.11.4 and works great! One of the best Redit-Reader! And that for free with no silly advertising… Stay tuned and work forward!!
Great!
Very easy to use and looks great!
Great app. Will give it 5 stars once you optimize the scrolling in full screen mode. I have a 2014 MacBook Pro Retina 15 and the scrolling in full screen mode is just too laggy. Please optimize the code. There is no reason why an i7 should have a problem with scrolling text and pictures in 2014.
Hello! There is some problem in adding columns, once you add one you don’t get a notification or a confirm button and you don’t see it. Then after clicking around you see, but then you add a second column and first one disappears. I honestly don’t know what’s the problem, I would like to be more helpful but I can’t.
Wow
Wow guys, impressive! Job well done this app is fantastic.
Ive been wanting a proper reddit client that can view multiple subreddits at once. This goes further and brings the whole reddit experience into one unified interface. Great work!
Ive never written an app review before, but this is amazing. Ive been waiting for something like this for a long time. The reddit integration is flawless, speed is impeccable, and ease of use is <insert next awesome adjective>. Its much easier than navigating reddit through safari, which has been buggy lately.
I subscribe to /r/reditrbugs to see what bugs are popping up and maybe help out the devs so they dont have to deal with too many reports. So, when looking at the comments of these report threads, I ALWAYS see at least one of the devs saying "Thanks for the report! Well fix it in the next update." Almost every report thread is answered with that, and they actually deliver on these promises. I dont know how you can get better support than that. Also, they add almost any sensible feature request (within reason, of course) made in /r/reditr or /r/reditrbugs, so that gives them some major kudos from me. Great app, great support, 10/10 would donate $100 again! Maybe during my Chrstimas bonus, I will :)
NIce app!
Thank you!
pretty cool app
Just installed…wanted to say so far pretty awesome!
I appreciate the developers effort in putting out a Reddit app for Mac that is free. My major complain though is the fact that the app takes forever to load an image. Other than that, its pretty good.
I have verson 1.1.4 and it is very glitchy. For example pictures take much too long too load, and scrolling up and down on subreddits stops and glitches out sometimes. It is a good app for reddit otherwise but Alien Blue if published to the appstore should be awesome.
Loading times are fast for me. The layout is very nice and it is way better than the site on the computer. I finally have a decent looking app for the mac. I use Blue Alien on my phone.
I like Reditr, its a nice way to organize all my subreddits. However, there are a couple of usability issues with it - for one, the dark background with light text hurts my eyes. I would change it to the "Light" theme, but the thing is that the Light theme changes the background to white - and keeps the text white. Its basically illegible.
Ive found that Reditr combines all the best parts of the most popular reddit clients into one. The way all the columns are organized takes some getting used to, but youll come to love it. Also, nice surprise to me that you can import RES tags and tag users within Reditr. Excellent.
