Reditr - Best Reddit Client App Reviews

I love it. This app has a lot of potential. I am looking forward to the usability updates and smoothing out a few minor issues, like the fact that the top bar is composed of random subreddits instead or subscription ones. Otherwise it just takes a bit getting used to. Keep up the great work guys!

I like the customizability of the app a lot. However, with all the customizability in it and hover preview features I cant turn off the auto-reload. So looking at the front page refreshes so often that sometimes the post moves before I can click it or even in the middle of a hover to preview. Other than this major issue, I think its a great substitute for the web because you can customize the layout and view multiple subreddits next to each other.

Doesnt work. Dont bother. Im coming up with an empty window and nothing else.

Visually the app is gorgeous, then you click on a post which reinserts the reditr splash screen and a seperate window that cannot be removed without closing the app. If the janky issues were fixed this app would be outstanding.

The layout of the app and the core philosophy behind the design is good. This app could be great. Unfortunately, it is buggy, slow, and unstable. I fear that it will never be in a satisfactory condition.

The app will not download. Instead reads with error saying item is unavailable :(

there is a link that appears to be new where links in a new window can’t be closed without quiting the app. However, even though this is a massive bug and makes the app unuseable for many it is beautifully made. It’s design is exceptonal, it makes viewing reddit so much easier. When the sort out that bug it will be a great app, just hope its soon.

So, I know it’s bad form to rate an app based on it’s crashiness, but COME ON.. Most times this wouldn’t even load. The UI is a throwback to phones, i have a HUGE amount of screen real estate and I’m forced into these narrow columns. Did I mention crashing?

It could be a good reader if it weren’t for the random behavior that requires killing the program to get rid of windows. I’m not sure how but I end up with a floating window that I can’t figure out how to close without killing the app. It would also be nice if closing the window didn’t completely kill the app. Makes me wish Alien Blue would get their act together and release an OSX client already.

This is a great App, its beautifully designed. However I’ve been using it for 15 minutes and encountered an important bug. When opening a GIF, it creates a window above the app that CANNOT be closed without shutting the app down. when this bug is fixed I will gladdly bump to 5 stars!

I had to restart this app several times after running into bugs like the columns not loading, the column menu not appearing when clicking on the icon, and general poor performance. It is much easier to just use the site. I’ll check in again after this app has had the opportunity to mature a bit.

I was hoping this would be a good app but it is not…. If you are looking for a Reddit app for MAC OS your are out of luck with any app. Alien Blue said to have coming for years. This one does not work…. One day hopefully not long from now we will have a good Reddit app for OS X… Signed NON iPad owner…. Long Live the MacBook Air...

This app is very well designed and fluid. There are some issues that could be addressed, such as the aforementioned bugs, janky column loading, and popup closing issues. Keystroke support needs to improve as well, and filtering and searching subreddits need to be greatly improved, because as I can tell now, it does not work as implemented or exist at all.

I’ve had the desktop app for a few years. Had to abandon, then just brought it back to give it another shot- WHY DON’T COLUMNS STAY IN THE ORDER YOU SET THEM??? This has been going on got years. I dont want my columns in alphabetical order. PLease, why is this not possible? Right back to the reddit site I go.

So there is no way to make this program minimized. It’s either ON (full screen or windowed) or you have to move it in the corner somewhere to get it out of the way. The screen shots for this app doesn’t do it justice as the actual traffic light buttons along the top left hand side do not exist whatsoever. If this what the developer means by seamless I want the seamed version back. Otherwise its a nice app.. just wish it wasn’t so windows like.
